46: Muslims & Xians? Bleargh!

Many knew that religions are the source of evil. They bred hate, fear and retributions. They bred intolerance. They bred classes. They bred almost everything that contradicts the nature of the evolution.
Granted, there are many moderate folks within these religions. But they often allowed the extremists to take over and oppress others who do not agree nor adhere to one’s beliefs.
Islam? I absolutely have zero respect or tolerance for these fools who practice Islam. I try to tolerate their antics in the past but their antics ultimately made me lose an iota of respect for Muslims. They deny the fact that they allowed their brothers to terrorize upon gays or other so-called “infidels”. They allowed their brothers to deny the women’s rights in Middle East — forced women to wear scarves, burqas and even punished them for going out by themselves! They allowed the honor killings to go on in many parts of countries across the planet.
To make things worse, they encourage, endorse and encourage the suicide bombers in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Spain, Algeria, Palestinian terroritories and Saudi Arabia. Soon, it shall happen in the United States — mark my words.
You do not see any Jews strapping the bombs on their chests and walk in any German-owned restaurant and blow themselves up, right?
What Muslims has done in the last 25 years are simply despicable. I just cannot bring myself to say, “I respect you.” My conscience said no, I cannot and I will not. I absolutely refuse.
What of Christianity? They once killed lots of Muslims and Jews because they do not adhere to their beliefs during the Middle Ages. It was the Xians who drove the Jews and Muslims out of Spain and the Middle East. Some Xians would try to distance this and say, “We do not do that … !”
Baloney! Take responsibility of your ancestors’ actions. Your Church did encourage the killings. Today, they do not kill. But they do kill in different ways. How? Through the system — legal and social — by implying that Jews are greedy, baby killers et al. Xians do try to use their fairy tale-filled book to justify in denying the equal rights to the minorities (disabled, color, gender and orientation!) from day one.
It is true that I lack any iota of respect nor tolerance for Xians and Muslims. I have few friends who are good Christians but at times, they try to preach and that’s when I stop them from doing that.
I know it is hard being Deaf. The big, bad world operated by hearing people made us feel crap at times. That’s when these ministers, imams and pastors come in the picture and try to convince us that their path will make you feel better.
Only it is not. It is just delusional.
If I must choose a religion — it is Judaism. I prefer ‘em. Why? Because they do not promote, force or shove it down your throat. However, I’m alarmed at the level of Deaf people falling for these nutty Xians and Muslims’ beliefs. I left one comment sneering at one Deaf woman for using the scalf whom I believed is an oppression against women. I got an amusing email from Deaf Muslim woman named Arezo.
Basically, this so-called woman named Arezo was upset that I took a swipe at Muslims and Xians of their flaws, through several emails back and forth, she asked me what religion am I? I indicate that I am not religious but if I must, I prefer to be Jewish. Here is her response:
Jewish have nothing… jewish poor.. Jewish wants everything because they don’t have nothing.. U stupid… I feel sorry for jewish people…Jewish smell like dirty…jewish dirty u are so jealous.. It is ok … I love my jewish friends I respect them but you hell no fuck off No it was jewish bomb the 911 blames muslim it was jewish set up … U telling me I am stupid and my religion stupid so you are stupid and ur eligion is stupid no different.
I don’t belive anyone… But just tell u just be a man.. Respect and peace.. Why don’t u want be peace.. if u don’t want to then go to hell
My dear Arezo, just take a good look at the mirror. You are a sympton of what is wrong with this world. You cannot respect nor uphold peace because your heart is full of malice against Jews in the first place. Until you stop hating Jews and start preaching your friends not to do such a thing to Jews, there won’t be any peace in this world. Comprendre?

Generally, the people of the Bible and the people of the Koran are peaceful and adopt tolerance. It is the politics that causes hostility and war dragging their religion in the picture. We all know that the religion leaders adopt their own interpretation and creating rituals that are not even followed in the holy book. Before the Crusades, Muslims carried a policy of tolerance allowing Jews to live in the area without being persecuted. Now they cry jihad for what was done to them by the Crusaders. Nothing is ever the same again.
It is important not to stereotype all Muslims or Xians or Jews or whoever. It is easy to hate the Muslims since the terrorists are associated to them. It is easy to hate the Christians since they started the Crusades. It is easy to hate the Jews because they were responsible of Jesus’s death. When will the hatered ever stop?
Actually you must have meant hijab or khimar as head scarfs since scaif accodring to Wiki means a polishing wheel infused with a mixture of olive oil and diamond dust used in the diamond cutting industry.
It is true that in our Western culture, we view Muslim women wearing hijab are oppressed but keep in mind that Muslim women see it as a sign of dignity that shows respect for their religion and elicits respect from men. I do struggle with this concept and may never understand it but it is their choice. I know that they have been forced to wear it because in their society, it is the norm but even when they get to be on the American soil they still wear it by choice.
Now about the letter by Arezo simply turns me off. It is a double edged sword for a Muslim to expected to be respected but diss the Jews. **shaking my head**

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Human beings will invent reasons to hate eachother. Religion is just the excuse. If you take away religion, they’ll hate eachother based on race, tall people vs short people, blue eyes vs brown eyes. The problem isn’t with the religion. It’s with the people.

Ironically, all religions teach “You shall not murder” from the bible book. They still practice to kill each other for many centuries. The extremists still desire to take over Jerusalem’s holy land and rule the world. They should respect people’s choices with the religion freedom and share our love.

Roquefort: You present an excellent question, in fact. I just reread “Kingdom Come” by Alex Ross and Mark Waid. Fantastic book. Near the end of the graphic novel, one character did not care much about the ceremony, and he spat the mucus out. His teammate saw it and he slapped this guy’s head as to say, “Show some respect.”
Accountability. Many Muslims refused to acknowledge/absolve their brothers’ actions. Many knew that by silence, they allowed the extremists to go haywire. Same thing with Xians and so on. They would say, “It is not me, it is Catholics!”
Does not matter. They must hold each other accountable of their actions. How do we hold people responsible? That is the question.
I have Xian friends but I hold them responsible for allowing their brothers & sisters to pursue the anti-gay legislation. “It was not me!” is not good answer.
Neil, I am aware that there are jewish fundamentalists. But they are pretty small in comparison with Muslims and Xians.
Gerald, I rarely disclose my beliefs because I dont think it is your business nor appropriate for me to impose my beliefs upon yours! If you insist, I follow Deism. And I do not advocate the killings. I rather to demoralize your mind and soul, rather than to kill you.
The truth is that Muslims and Xians are the worst offenders of this modern society — trying to force everyone else to adhere to their beliefs.

People being killed, terrorists dying in hopes to be surrounded by hundreds of virgins in the heaven (oh please, that is stupid), women suffering the restrictions (especially Talbian regime), Christian organization embezzling money, ultra-conservative Mormons (part of Christianity… same idea as Ridor mentioned about Catholics) forcing little girls into marriage, etc. Also, look at the past history… all the crusuades between Xians and Muslims… bloody history, all right. One does not hear much about Jews. My sister-in-law got fed up with Christianity and converted to Judasim years ago and she said that the religion made more sense to her, with explanation of why’s, rules, etc.

JJ: No, it is not my position to make the world a better place for “everyone” to live. That’s where you are wrong. Look carefully, Xians and Muslims tend to listen to *each other*. That’s where I fail to do that.
It is YOUR duty to hold your Xians accountable for creating an hostile environment for me to live in. For example, the Xian fundamentalists has been very active in pursuing the anti-gay legislation in many states. Many Xians did do nothing but to allow them to do that.
When some bills passed to ban the same sex marriage or certain bills that would allow gays to function in the real world, gays and lesbians as well as I suffer the most. What do I do? Nothing? No. I responded back in force.
How? By hurting friends where it counted the most. In the last 10 years, I already had more than 10 wedding invitations by straight friends. I decline to attend, acknowledge nor give a present to these friends at their weddings because they fail me by not doing something about the injustices upon us. They could stop their Xian fundamentalists by silencing their own. But no, they allowed it to happen. And you’re telling me that I should do something about it. No, you do it first.

Please. You’re responsible for your own kind, like it or not.

You obviously will always refuse to look at a human as a human, instead of as someone who bears one detail of their culture on their sleeve. So for me to continue is to waste my time and your time. Arguing just feeds the rancor and drives both parties further in the wrong direction. But you should be the bigger person. You should show compassion where others spit on you. I’m not saying you have to give in to the ways of the world around you. But if you show love where there’s only hatred, then eventually that hatred is broken. It works in any situation. But you make it worse by judging a Belief and all who share that Belief.
****It’s no different than someone saying “you are deaf and therefore you cannot function in a hearing world.” Some deaf people choose not to function in a hearing world, some choose to function but on their terms, some choose to blend in or go with the flow, some choose to pretend to be hearing. Being Deaf does not determine who a person is. But for an ignorant hearing person to see you as a Deaf person…it’s no different than your hatred towards Muslims and Christians.
Beliefs are a part of a culture. Being deaf is oftentimes a culture. Sure no one chooses to be deaf. But the example is to show that Deaf is “detail” and a belief is a “detail.”
don’t judge me by details. Judge me for who I am. I am not an extremist who will tell you’re wrong for being gay. And I am NOT responsible for other’s stupidity. I hold them accountable but I am not defined by them simply because their choices affect you in a negative way.

There’s a bit of history to this as well. You might want to watch The Kingdom of Heaven. Let me address a few things, as this is also covered in Western Civilization classes as well as various websites.
Don’t lump Muslims and Christians all together like the others have said. It seems that Islam wanted to conquer the Christian world and was doing well for a few centuries. They had already taken North Africa, Middle East, Asia Minor, most of Spain, Egypt, Palestine, much of the Christian world. The First Crusade was in 1095, called by Pope Urban in response to Contantinople’s Byzantine emperor call for help. When you study the Crusades, you’ll know the reasons behind them.

You also have to understand the various “sects,” if I can call them, of Christianity. Fundamentalists have claimed things like no drinking, no dancing, etc., when it clearly mentions in the book of Proverbs that it’s allowed. Watch the movie Footloose when Kevin Bacon’s character reads passages of the Bible to board members during a meeting on dancing. It’s often all in the interpretation.

Although most religions espouse values of kindness, generosity and good works, in practical application, it seems that religion is used more often to divide “them” from “us,” and to give people yet another way to discriminate against one another. It isn’t limited to wars between different religions; one need only look back a few years to see different sects of Christians killing and terrorizing each other in Northern Ireland. And look at the state of religious warfare today. Muslims are murdering and terrorizing other Muslims in Iraq just for belonging to a different sect of Islam.
If people were more concerned with doing the right things in THIS world, rather than preoccupying themselves with what is going to happen in the NEXT one, our world would be a better place.
